Le Facce Di Bronzo |
On the original label the song is credited to
(Cascinelli/Baldassari/Poli) but the compilers of '60's Italian
Beat Resurrection # 1' decided to change the credits to (Facce Di Bronzo/Scott/Coulter).
This was Le Facce Di Bronzo's one and only single and lucky for us they
treat us with a very cool version. Best of all, it's sung in Italian! No,
I don't know what they are singing about (the title means 'It's Useless'
by the way) but I would love to find out anyway. Love that Italian Beat
stuff, or Bitpop, as the Italians so charmingly put it. Read all about
the band in the ever great Misty Lane # 16' zine. Apparently 3 members of
Le Facce Di Bronzo came from another interesting group, Quattro Diavoli
+ 1, who issued just one single earlier on in 1966: 'L' Opera' b/w 'La
Bidonata' (RCM 3766). The B-side was a cover of Them's 'Gloria'. The Discoverix
label later changed its name to Destination X, only the first 3 albums
were released under the Discoverix moniker. All releases on the Discoverix/Destination
X are extremely limited editions, sometimes no more than 150 copies are
pressed. |
