The Fax

This teen combo put out a very potent garage version with some great backing vocals thrown in for good measure. Raw and raunchy sounds, straight out of the garage. The Fax reunited for the 'La Crosse Rock Reunion '91' show. Apparently these guys were originally called The Gentrys but when another band - who used the same moniker - scored a huge hit with 'Keep On Dancing', the record company changed the band's name on the label to The Fax without informing the band! Check it out in 'Do You Hear That Beat', a wonderful book on the Wisconsin 50's & 60's scene by Gary E. Myers. Line-up: Mike Palmer (rhythm guitar) - Greg Fritsch (lead guitar) - Steve Noffke (bass) - Greg Haskell (drums).
