The Haunted (live)

Whoa, whatta find! Thanks to Alex Taylor for tracking down this legendary combo's live recording. Very rough sounding but what a dynamite performance. Recorded in Montreal somewhere in the fall of 1966 at one of the last gigs with original singer Bob Burgess, who left shortly thereafter. Burgess went on to join Our Generation who recorded 2 singles. These 4 songs are also featured on the second Haunted album that Voxx issued ('I'm just gonna blow My Little Mind To Bits' - Voxx VXM 200.013 - 1983). Both Voxx LP's are still available so there's no excuse for not checking them out. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to dissapoint all you bootleggers out there, but this version will remain in the vault. A bit slower than the 45 take, it features some thunderous hollow log drum sound (I'm a sucker for that sound!). And just like fellow Canadians Les Sultans did on their live version (see later), the guitarsolo is omited for one reason or another. Line-up: Bob Burgess (vocal) - Al Birmingham (lead guitar) - Jurgen Peter (rhythm guitar) - Mason Shea (bass) - Dave Wynne (drums).
